The Chair of Economics and Ethics at the Department of Economics at Kiel University, Germany, invites applications for a

PhD Assistant

The targeted starting date is June 1, 2015. The position involves a renewable contract with an initial term of two years. The regular hours of work are 50% of a full-time position, which is currently 19.35 hours per week. The salary corresponds to 50% of a TV-L 13 position according to German pay scale. The responsibilities include two semester hours per week of teaching (one semester hour = 45 minutes).

Although applicants are not expected to possess all qualifications for this position, the desired competencies include:
• above-average university degree in economics (Master, Univ-Dipl., or equivalent)
• knowledge of statistical and experimental economics methods, including familiarity with software such as Z-tree and Stata
• strong command of written and spoken English
• interest in the field of economics and ethics

The successful applicant will support the Chair in teaching in the areas of economics and ethics, experimental and behavioral economics.
